Dan Dower (BA hons jewellery design, FGA, DGA) is an exceptional craftsman and qualified gemmologist with over 30 years’ experience creating beautiful jewellery designs.
Established in 1990, Dower & Hall have built a reputation for exceptional bespoke jewellery design alongside a team of the best homegrown talent in our London workshop. This ensures that every design receives the most outstanding attention and care, from conception through to completion.

RENU'S RING STORY
When Renu, the Glasgow-based food and lifestyle creator behind @hey_renu, first got married, she chose Platinum for her engagement and wedding rings - a reflection of her modern style and a distance from the traditional Indian gold she grew up around. But over time, her story and her relationship with jewellery has changed. Now, yellow gold feels like home - warm, radiant and full of cultural meaning.
Rather than replacing her original rings, Renu chose to reimagine them. Together with Dan, her platinum wedding ring set was transformed into a stack of five new solid gold rings - a modern expression of her journey, rooted in sentiment.
Across a series of personal appointments, Dan sketched ideas, refined the designs and crafted prototypes for Renu to try on - ensuring every detail felt true to her. Once perfected, the diamonds from her original engagement and wedding rings were carefully set, completing the transformation.
For this project, Renu’s ring transformation was made possible through our Gold Exchange service, allowing her to trade in her old platinum and give her precious metals a new purpose. Her own diamonds were carefully upcycled, preserving their memories while reimagining them.
It’s a perfect example of how thoughtful design and sustainable practices can breathe new life into jewellery that’s deeply personal.
